Central Church Supports Missions!

Current Missions
Due to financial constraints, Central hasn't participated in any short-term mission trips during 2008-2009. However, a trip to Brazil is in the early stages of planning for June 2010. There is also a possible trip to Uruguay in 2010. Additionally, we have begun preliminary planning for a trip to Cote d'Ivoire in 2011. Central continues to support Missouri Free Will Baptist missions through prayer, work, and finances. Check out the status of Missouri FWB missions at www.showmeplan.org.

Mission Brazil
The Advisory Board approved Mission Brazil as a ministry of Central Church in February of 2007. The Mission Brazil 2007 team prayed and worked hard at fund raising. God blessed our efforts and we raised over $7800! We left on August 3, arriving in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Saturday, August 4. We stayed until Sunday, August 12, when we started our trip back, arriving in Kansas City on August 13. While in Araras, Sao Paulo, Brazil we painted exterior corridors at Lar Nova Vida, purchased some much needed household items for both of the homes, and invested time, energy, and money into encouraging our missionaries as well as the Brazilian believers.

Mission Cote d'Ivoire
In June of 2007 a mission trip for Missouri pastors to Cote d'Ivoire, West Africa, was announced by the Missouri State Association of Free Will Baptists. Pastor Alan Kinder applied for the trip and was accepted. Pastor Alan departed on October 18, arriving in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire on October 19. The trip included visits to the three FWB churches in Abidjan, as well as visits to several churches in the north country, highlighted by a visit to the hospital at Doropo, started by pioneer missionaries Dr. and Mrs. Laverne Miley. Unfortunately, an Air France strike meant an unexpected extension to the trip, so Pastor Alan didn't return until November 1, as opposed to the scheduled return of October 27. Even with the extended stay, the trip was a tremendous blessing!
